DA Hike Update: Central government employees may soon receive a DA boost. The Modi government is expected to increase their DA by 2%. If this happens, the DA for central government employees will increase to 60%.
DA Hike Update: Government employees awaiting their DA may soon receive good news. Based on past trends, the central government is expected to announce the DA in the last week of March or the first week of April. Government employees are eagerly awaiting this announcement. It’s worth noting that even if it is announced next week, the money will not be received in their March salaries.
Will DA increase to 60%?
Currently, central government employees receive 58 percent DA of their basic pay. If an employee’s basic pay is ₹18,000, the current DA would be ₹10,440. This time, government employees may receive a 2 percent DA increase. Based on inflation data and calculations using the AICPI index, employees are expecting a 2 percent increase. If this happens, the DA for government employees will increase to 60 percent.
When will the DA be announced?
If we look at the trend of the past few years, DA has been announced around Holi. In 2025, the announcement was made on March 28. In 2024, the central government announced DA on March 7. In 2023, DA was announced on March 24 and in 2022, DA was announced on March 30. Therefore, it is expected that the government may announce DA in the next few days.
Will the DA be added to the March salary?
Even if the government announces DA in the next few days, it will not be added to the March salary and pension. The DA will first receive Cabinet approval. A notice will then be issued. Departments will make their calculations based on that. Banks will then update the salary and pension. This process will then begin. This means it will take some time to complete.
It is expected that employees and pensioners will get DA and arrears money in their April salary.
