The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is offering flats to government employees. They will receive a 25% discount on the purchase of the flats. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to develop a dedicated housing cluster for government employees in Narela. A new scheme, the Karmayogi Housing Scheme, is being implemented, under which a total of 3,656 flats will be available to government employees in Pockets 6, 9, and 13 in Sectors A1 to A4 of Narela. These flats include HIG, MIG, and EWS category homes.
Registration to Open in December
According to DDA officials, registration for these newly constructed flats will begin in mid-December. The most significant feature of this scheme is that these flats will be available only to government employees, employees of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), corporations, government hospitals, and other central and state government departments. Retired employees will also receive these flats. Eligible applicants will also receive a 25% discount on the flat price, although final prices have not yet been finalized.
For the first time, pockets will be reserved only for government employees.
The DDA says that while concessions have been offered to government employees in the past, for the first time, certain pockets will be reserved exclusively for government employees. These flats will also include parking, parks, and easy connectivity to important roads like GT Karnal Road and Urban Extension Road-II.
More than 35,000 flats in Narela remain unsold
The DDA currently has approximately 35,000 unsold flats in Narela, 80% of which are in the EWS and LIG categories. Aiming to sell these flats in the next two years, the DDA has taken several steps, including dynamic pricing, expanding DTC routes, constructing UER-II, connecting flats, allotment on a first-come, first-served basis, and offering various concessions to buyers.
Several improvements to make Narela livable
Officials stated that land has been allocated in Narela for police infrastructure, a hospital, an education hub, a DTC terminal, and service projects like Safal and Mother Dairy. A world-class multi-sports stadium is also being developed. The DDA expects that demand for Narela housing will increase further once the Delhi Metro’s Phase IV corridor is operational, as the metro will connect all residential pockets.
