3 new housing schemes approved
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) held a meeting on Monday, which was chaired by its chairman and Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena. The authority has approved the launch of three housing schemes, including a 25 per cent discount for building and construction workers, including PM-Vishwakarma Yojana beneficiaries in Narela and for other underprivileged sections of society in Sirsapur, Narela and Loknayak Puram.
Who will get the benefit
The statement said that other disadvantaged sections include auto-rickshaw drivers, (permit holders), cab drivers, women and persons belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category, wives of war martyrs, disabled persons, ex-servicemen, gallantry award recipients and beneficiaries of PM-Swanidhi scheme. It said that apart from this, the authority also approved the launch of DDA’s Special Housing Scheme 2025, which will offer 110 flats in areas like Vasant Kunj, Dwarka and Rohini apart from Ashok Hill and Jahangirpuri.
25 percent discount will be available on flats
Several decisions were taken during the meeting such as launching a special housing scheme with 25 per cent discount for building and construction workers registered with the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (DBOCWWB), including beneficiaries of PM-Vishwakarma Yojana. Under this scheme, around 700 EWS flats in Narela (Sector G2) will be offered with 25 per cent discount.
The authority has approved a discount of 25 per cent on flats under DDA Affordable Home Housing Scheme 2024 and DDA Middle Class Housing Scheme 2024 for certain categories of people, the statement said.
Applications on first come first serve basis
This includes auto-rickshaw drivers (permit holders), cab drivers, women, SC/ST, war wives, Divyangs, ex-servicemen and gallantry award recipients and beneficiaries of PM-SVANidhi scheme, the statement said. The statement said that under the scheme, 25 per cent of the flats available in Narela (all categories), Sirsapur (LIG) and Loknayakpuram (LIG) will be reserved for eligible applicants on a first come, first served basis.
The statement said that apart from this, 10 per cent flats in Loknayakpuram (MIG) will also be reserved for the discount scheme. The statement said that this scheme is available for a limited period till March 31, 2025. The statement said that the authority has approved the launch of DDA Special Housing Scheme 2025.
The statement said that under this scheme, 110 flats (seven HIG, 58 MIG and 45 LIG) will be offered in various areas like Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Rohini, Ashoka Hill and Jahangirpuri. The statement said that the flats in Vasant Kunj will be offered through e-auction, while elsewhere they will be offered on first come first serve basis.
The authority also approved the change of land use of 4.63 hectares (46300 sq m) of railway land in Shakur Basti from transport to residential, the statement said. It also approved amendment in the regulation for setting up fuel stations on privately owned land in Delhi and policy guidelines for developed entities for disposal of EWS units.
