Delhi High Court refuses stay on Central Vista project, fined one lakh on petitioner

The Delhi High Court said that it is an indispensable project of national importance, people have a significant interest in public projects.

The Delhi High Court has dismissed the petition seeking a moratorium on the Central Vista Project. With this, a fine of one lakh has been imposed on the petitioner. The petition sought to stop the Corona epidemic on the basis of it.

The bench of High Court Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh has dismissed the petition. The Delhi High Court said that it is an indispensable project of national importance, people have a significant interest in public projects. The court said, the petition was “motivated” for some purpose and not a “genuine public interest litigation”.

Let us know that the Supreme Court has already cleared the construction of Central Vista. The Delhi High Court said that the workers engaged in construction work are staying at the same place, in which case there is no justification for stopping the construction work. DDMA’s order of April 19 is not being violated in the construction.
