Delhi High Court surprised by claim of Central Government on medicine of Black Fungus

The Delhi High Court made a strange argument by the counsel for the Central Government on the shortage of medicine for Black Fungus. On this the court expressed its displeasure with the government.


New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has reprimanded the central government for the shortage of black fungus medicine. The court said that there has been so much noise on this issue. Even then the government does not want to listen to him, then it will.

There is no shortage of amphotericin B- Central Government

Let us inform that on the issue of black fungus medicine, the bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Jasmeet Singh was hearing in the High Court. Central Government Standing Counsel Kirtiman Singh said that there is no shortage of amphotericin B used in the treatment of black fungus. The lawyer claimed that this drug is easily available in the market and any victim can buy it.

Court shocked by government’s claim

The judges of the High Court expressed surprise at this strange claim of the lawyer. The court said that when the medicine is available in sufficient quantity in the market then so many people should not have died. On this the lawyer said that people are not dying due to lack of medicine. They are dying because Black Fungus is dangerous in itself.

The court said that about a third of the people affected by the black fungus have died. On this, the standing counsel for the Central Government said that people are not dying due to lack of medicines. Had this happened, there would have been a lot of commotion and chaos in the country.

The judges did not like the lawyer’s claims


A bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Jasmeet Singh did not like these arguments of the lawyer. The court said that, ‘There has already been so much noise on the shortage of black fungus medicine. Even after this, if you do not want to listen to it, then you will.

During the hearing, the court expressed satisfaction over the efforts of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). ICMR had issued guidelines on treatment options for black fungus.
