Metro is going to be completely cashless soon. After this change, passengers will have to pay the fare through QR Code. For this, the work of upgrading the Automatic Fair Collection (AFC) gate at all the stations of Delhi Metro has also started.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said that this decision has been taken to promote digital payment in view of prevention of corona infection (Covid-19). Due to this, Quick Response (QR Code) has been implemented to make the fastest payment. Till now, payment from QR code is being used only on Airport Express Line in Delhi. But now payment will be made from this in the metro.
2.86 lakh people travel daily
According to media reports, initially the QR code system will be available on the Delhi Metro’s 9 corridors, which spans 314 kilometers and 245 stations. DMRC figures show that approximately 2.86 million people travel in the metro every day. And in the financial year 2019-20, a total of 100 crore people have traveled in the metro.
Can scan code from any app
Officials say that passengers will be able to use RuPay card issued by 23 banks. That is, passengers can scan the QR code from any app to pay for the ticket money. Apart from this, facility to use Metro National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) has also been provided on this line.
Ridlr app can also be downloaded
Apart from this, passengers can also download the Ridlr app and scan the QR code from it. After downloading this app one has to register first. After this, you have to enter your mailID. After this, the user will have to select the ticket number by selecting the starting and last stop of the metro. After this, you will be able to buy the QR code ticket.
