Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to lay optic fiber cable on all corridors of Delhi Metro. This will provide high speed internet facility to the passengers in the metro. First of all, this facility will be started on Magenta Line (Botanical Garden-Krishna Park Extension) and Pink Line (Shiv Vihar-Majlis Park) corridors. After this, this work will be completed in a phased manner on all other corridors in six months.
Delhi Metro: DMRC will lay optical fiber cables along all the corridors of Delhi Metro in NCR. This will provide high speed internet facility to the passengers in the metro. Therefore, there will be no problem of internet connectivity in the metro.
First of all, this facility will be provided on Magenta Line (Botanical Garden-Krishna Park Extension) and Pink Line (Shiv Vihar-Majlis Park) corridors. DMRC says that after Magenta and Pink Line, this work will be completed in a phased manner on all other corridors in six months.

DMRC Principal Executive Director (Public Relations) Anuj Dayal says that for this work, DMRC has signed an agreement with Bekhal Digital Technologies Private Limited. This company will do the work of laying and maintaining optical fiber network.
Passengers will get 5G network facility on the entire network of metro
Optic fiber network is necessary for high speed internet network. This will provide 5G network facility to passengers on the entire network of metro in NCR including Delhi. This initiative will support the vision of digitally connected nation of the central government.
This will help telecom companies to provide fast and reliable internet facility and will help Delhi to stay connected in a better way. The metro network in NCR including Delhi is about 393 km. Internet connection problem is more in the part of underground corridor. This problem will be solved to a great extent after laying optic fiber cable.
