Delhi Metro : The metro will start operating this year on small sections of two lines (Pink and Gray lines) of Delhi Metro. These include Mayur Vihar Pocket Ek-Trilokpuri Corridor of Pink Line and Najafgarh-Dhansa Border Bus Stand Corridor of Gray Line.
These corridors are very small in terms of length, but metro connectivity will be better when operational and passengers will benefit greatly. In particular, direct metro service will be available on the entire section of the Pink Line from Shiv Vihar to Majlis Park. This will make the Pink Line the largest line of the Delhi Metro. Secondly, it will be easy to reach Anand Vihar railway station from many parts of South Delhi and Nizamuddin railway station from East Delhi.
Actually, due to the metro network not yet ready between Trilokpuri to Mayur Vihar, the full benefit of the Pink Line is not available to the passengers. The 58.59 km long Pink Line is currently operational on two stretches. Under this, the Metro is running between Majlis Park to Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 and Trilokpuri to Shiv Vihar. Due to land dispute, the corridor between Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 to Trilokpuri was not ready along the entire stretch of the Pink Line. Last year, after the land dispute was resolved, the DMRC started work on the Pink Line line, but work was affected due to Corona infection.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) says that now the pillar molding has been completed. Viaduct, metro track laying and technical work are remaining on about 250 meters. The work is expected to be completed by May-June this year. After this, operations will start. Apart from this, the metro will start on the 1.18 km stretch between Najafgarh to Dhans Border Bus Stand on the gray line by September.
