Delhi Weather Today: On Friday, Delhi residents woke up to a hazy morning caused by strong winds and a dust storm. The dust storm impacted visibility across the entire city. The combination of strong, cool winds and a drop in temperature to 21 degrees Celsius offered relief from the heat experienced in recent days. However, the dust storm has adversely affected the air quality in the national capital.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the capital’s weather is set to undergo a change this week, with a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in the NCR region over the coming days.
Notably, the dust storm—accompanied by cool winds and overcast skies that obscured the sun—rendered the weather pleasant; however, the dust caused commuting difficulties for residents.
Delhi Weather: Will it Rain Today?
The IMD has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms during the day. The daytime temperature is expected to reach up to 33 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels are projected to range between 45 and 80 percent. However, the India Meteorological Department has not issued any weather warnings for the national capital, Delhi, for today.
Delhi Weather: IMD Issues Yellow Alert
The India Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for Saturday, warning of rain accompanied by thunderstorms. During this period, there is a possibility of lightning strikes, and wind speeds could reach up to 30–40 km per hour. The daytime temperature is likely to drop to 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to remain at 20 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the intermittent rainfall could offer relief from the rising temperatures typically observed in early April.
Rainy Spell May Continue into Next Week
This shift in weather patterns is expected to persist beyond the current week. On April 5, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms may continue, followed by partly cloudy skies on April 6. There is a possibility of rain once again between April 7 and 8.
