These people can apply for a ration card
Every citizen of the country who has Indian citizenship can apply for a ration card. The name of the child below 18 years of age is added to the ration card of the parents. On the other hand, if your age is more than 18 years, then you can apply for a separate ration card.

These documents are necessary for ration card

  • Voting Card / Voter ID Card
  • Aadhar Card
  • Address Proof
  • Passport size photograph of the head of the family (2 passport size photographs)
  • Electricity/Water Bill/Telephone Bill (Anyone)
  • Any document issued by the Government of India if any

How can apply

  • Ration card is issued by the state governments. Therefore, the process of applying for a ration card is different in every state.
  • Ration card can be applied for offline only, so there is a facility of online application anywhere.
  • If you are a resident of Uttar Pradesh then you can download the form by accessing https://fcs.up.gov.in/FoodPortal.aspx.
  • After this, fill all the necessary information in it and hand it over to the ration dealer of your area or in the office of the Food Supply Department.

  • If the applicant wants, he can also apply for the ration card at the Common Service Center.
  • Do not forget to take the slip after handing over the ration card form.

Ration cards are made based on income

Generally, three types of ration cards are made. APL for the people living above the poverty line, BPL for the people living below the poverty line, and Antyodaya for the poorest families.
