Delhi-Barot is the first route out of 17 interstate routes in six states on which DTC will run buses. DTC will soon start interstate bus services to Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Agra, Ayodhya, Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haldwani, Alwar, Jaipur, Bikaner, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Patiala, Jammu, Panipat.
Electric buses to run on short routes…
DTC will run air-conditioned electric buses on routes shorter than 200 km. CNG buses will run on routes longer than 200 km. Initially, 3 DTC buses will run on the Delhi-Barot route. These buses will run in two shifts, morning and evening. These will be 12-metre long fully air-conditioned electric buses. The Delhi-Barot route is short, so the new DTC electric buses running within the city will be plying on this route for now. For longer routes, the DTC will soon procure more comfortable and more seating AC buses.
E-ticketing to be launched on September 23…
With the start of inter-state bus services on September 23, a digital e-ticketing system will also be introduced in Delhi buses. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will launch it. The trial of e-ticketing is currently underway at some depots including Rajghat.
All bus conductors will be provided with E-POS machines equipped with GPS system, which will help in tracking the real-time location of the bus, finding the number of buses and providing information about the arrival of buses at the stop through Google Maps. People will be able to pay for the ticket using UI Mobile Wallet Credit or.
