DU Admission Rules Change: Delhi University has intensified admission preparations for the 2026-27 academic year. In this regard, the university has released its new admission information bulletin. This year, DU has made significant changes to the rules, particularly for management-related undergraduate courses. Previously, admission to these courses was based on CUET scores in three subjects, but now students will have to submit scores in four subjects. This decision could change the strategy of thousands of students preparing to pursue management courses at DU.

Admission to undergraduate courses at Delhi University will be entirely through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). This time, the eligibility criteria for popular courses such as Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration Finance and Investment Analysis (BBA-FIA), and BA Honours Business Economics (BBE) have been changed.

Until now, admission to these courses was based on students’ CUET scores in a language subject, mathematics, and a general test. However, now an additional subject has been included. This means that students will now be considered for merit based on their CUET scores in a total of four subjects: a language, mathematics, a domain subject, and a general test. This clearly means that students’ subject-related knowledge will now be given more importance.

This is important

According to officials, the institute believes that students’ domain knowledge is crucial for admission to management and business-related courses. Language and mathematics alone do not fully assess a student’s preparation. Therefore, an additional subject has been added to assess how well a student understands their chosen field.

Here’s the advice

The DU administration has advised students who wish to enroll at Delhi University to carefully read the admission bulletin. It clearly outlines the eligibility criteria for each course, the required subjects, and the CUET rules. Students should fill out the CUET form accordingly. DU has also clarified that after the CUET exam, the university will open its admission portal, where students can register.

This change will provide students with the right direction for their studies, make it easier to choose subjects, and improve their preparation. This will strengthen their career planning and help them perform well in competitive exams.
