The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is preparing to eliminate this hassle.
According to reports, UIDAI will soon launch e-Aadhaar, a fully digital platform. Citizens will now be able to instantly update important Aadhaar information from the comfort of their homes.
According to a government official, this mobile application is expected to be available by the end of this year.
What is e-Aadhaar?
The e-Aadhaar App will be UIDAI’s new digital initiative, available on both Android and iOS platforms. The new application will allow users to update important personal information, such as name, address, and date of birth, directly from their smartphones. This digital app aims to reduce the hassle of people having to repeatedly visit Aadhaar centers.
By integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Face ID technology, this app will provide secure and seamless digital Aadhaar services to users across India.
Benefits of the e-Aadhaar App
The e-Aadhaar App will save time by eliminating the need to visit a center. Everything can be done through the mobile app. Updates will be possible within minutes. Being the official platform of UIDAI, data will remain secure.
At launch, this app will allow users to update three key details in their Aadhaar card: date of birth, address, and phone number. In the future, UIDAI will also provide the option to update email ID and photo.
In addition to these features, UIDAI plans to automatically retrieve user data from verified government sources. This will include documents such as birth certificates, PAN cards, passports, driving licenses, ration cards from the Public Distribution System (PDS), and MNREGA scheme records. Furthermore, electricity bill details may also be included to make address verification even easier.
