e-Aadhaar App: UIDAI is soon launching its new e-Aadhaar mobile app, through which you will be able to update your name, address, phone number and date of birth directly from your smartphone. Now there will be no need to go to the Aadhaar center for Aadhaar update. This change has brought great relief especially to the users living in rural areas.

Till when will you have to go to the center?
From November 2025, you will have to go to the Aadhaar center only for biometric updates (fingerprint or iris scan). All other updates can be done only through the app. This process will become completely digital from November 2025. Users will only need an OTP (one-time password), through which they will be able to update their Aadhaar card details from home. This change will be especially beneficial for those who are unable to go to the Aadhaar center due to busy schedule.

Under the current rule, if a person wants to make any changes in his Aadhaar card, be it name, address, date of birth or mobile number, then he has to compulsorily go to the Aadhaar center. Physical visit is necessary for every kind of update.
