EB Application Dates Extended: The U.S. Department of State has released a visa bulletin for December 2025, extending several key deadlines for Indian EB applicants. This is good news for Indian employment-based green card applicants, as their dates have been moved forward. This means they may receive their green cards earlier.

However, there have been no significant changes for those with family-based visas, so they will have to wait longer. For employment-based categories, all key deadlines for India have been moved forward. EB-1 has been moved forward by one month to March 15, 2022, EB-2 by one month and 14 days to May 15, 2023, and EB-3 by one month to September 22, 2023. This means that Indian applicants in these categories are now closer to final green card approval.

Family-Based Visas Disappointment

There has been virtually no change in the Family-Based category. Final Action Dates remain unchanged for all categories—F1, F2A, F2B, F3, and F4. The only change is for F2A applicants—they can file applications one month earlier, starting November 22, 2025. This means the wait for family-based applicants remains long.

USCIS Process Relief

USCIS has stated that the Filing Dates will continue to be used for both employment and family applications. This will ensure applicants continue to receive these benefits.

Adjustment of Status filing can be expedited.
Work authorization (EAD) can be expedited.
Advance Parole can also be expedited.
And the priority date is locked in, even if the green card is not immediately available.
