CG Holiday Calendar 2026: The Chhattisgarh government has released the holiday list for government employees for the year 2026 in the gazette. A total of 107 days of holidays have been set for the new year. Public holidays will apply to all government offices and undertakings.
Public Holidays: Good news for Chhattisgarh government employees. The Vishnu Sai government has released the official holiday calendar for the year 2026. Under this new year, employees will receive 107 days off out of 365. This includes major national and religious festivals such as Republic Day, Holi, Eid, Rakshabandhan, Independence Day, Dussehra, Diwali, and Christmas.
The calendar also includes local festivals such as Hareli and Teej. Employees will not be granted additional leave if major festivals such as Mahashivratri and Diwali fall on Sundays. According to government rules, no additional leave is granted if a festival falls on a Sunday. The state government has sent this holiday list to all departments, districts, and government institutions to facilitate planning for administrative, educational, and development work throughout the year.
18 Public Holidays to be Available in 2026
According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, holidays for the year 2026 have been divided into three categories. This includes 18 public holidays, meaning they will be compulsory holidays throughout the state. 28 general holidays have been provided. 61 optional holidays have also been provided. Employees can choose a specified number of holidays from the list based on their preferences. Please note that dates such as Eid/Bakrid/Muharram may change depending on the sighting of the moon. The final valid date will be as per the government/administration’s orders.
