Salary Increment: Hyundai Motor India Limited and the United Union of Hyundai Employees have signed a long-term wage agreement for the period from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2027. During this period, employees’ salaries will be increased by ₹31,000.
Salary Increment: Big news for employees of Hyundai Motor India, a leading auto industry giant. Their salaries will now increase by ₹31,000 annually. This comes after an agreement was reached between Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) and the United Union of Hyundai Employees (UUHE) regarding employee salaries. The agreement is valid for three years, from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2027. The company states that this agreement is one of the best in the industry.
In a filing to the stock exchange on Wednesday, the company stated that this long-term wage settlement was reached between the company and its recognized employee union, the United Union of Hyundai Employees (UUHE). According to the agreement, employee salaries will increase by ₹31,000. This increase will be implemented over three years: 55% in the first year, 25% in the second year, and 20% in the third year. This agreement primarily applies to technical and blue-collar workers.
Employees will receive enhanced health benefits
Youngmyung Park, Head of People Strategy at Hyundai Motor India, stated, “At Hyundai, our people are the foundation of our success. This agreement is based on mutual trust and respect. It demonstrates our commitment to creating a better environment for our employees.” HMIL further added that it will also provide employees with improved health benefits and wellness programs.
These employees will benefit
90% of the company’s total workforce, including all employees working as of August 31, 2025, will benefit from this. The company stated that this plan is for technicians and other workers, meaning that 90% of its employees will receive this salary increase. In total, approximately 1,981 employees will benefit from this salary hike. It’s worth noting that UUHE works to promote employee welfare and rights, and maintains a good relationship with management.
