Fast bowler Jofra Archer had violated the England cricket team’s bio security protocol, after which strict action has been taken against him.
The Test match against the West Indies is scheduled to begin at Old Trafford today (Thursday, 16 July). This match will be played from 3.30 pm Indian time.
Archer will now be in isolation for the next five days. In this period he will have to undergo two COVID-19 tests. This alienation will end only after the test is negative.
Archer said, ‘I am deeply sorry for what I have done.’ He said, ‘I have put not only myself but the entire team and management in danger. I sincerely apologize to everyone.
England regular captain Joe Root will return to the team for the second cricket Test against West Indies starting on Thursday.
Joe Root will replace Denali. Root did not play in the first Test in Southampton due to being with his wife for the birth of their second child.
England’s team will take the field with the intention of equalizing the series in the second Test match. On the other hand, the Windies will do their utmost to gain an unstoppable edge. The Windies last won the Test series in 1988 (4–0) in England.
