The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is introducing the Fastag annual pass from 15 August 2025. If you also cross the National Highway often, then this is good news for you. With this annual pass, you will be able to save up to Rs 7000 every year. The rules of Fastag are being made more simple. The new rules have been made mainly keeping in mind private vehicles like jeeps, cars. Commercial vehicles are not included in it.
Purpose of Fastag Annual Pass
FASTag was introduced by the government to control long lines and crowds at toll plazas. Due to which now there is no need to wait long to pay the toll and it saves time. Because Fastag is installed on the vehicle which gets automatically scanned when crossing the toll naka. Now NHAI is issuing annual passes by changing some rules. So that people can get recharged for the whole year in one go.
How will Rs 7000 be saved?
The charge for recharging Fastag for 1 year has been kept at Rs 3000. In which 200 tolls can be crossed. The validity of this pass will be 1 year. That means 15 rupees will be charged for crossing one toll. Currently, different charges are taken at toll booths according to the weight of the vehicle. Currently, about 10000 rupees can be spent to cross 200 tolls. But now the work will be done in just 3000 rupees. People who travel long distances can save even more.
How to buy?
Annual Fastag pass can be purchased from 15 August 2025. For which you have to go to the Highway Yatra app or the official website of NHAI/MoRTH. Where to login, you have to enter the vehicle number and fast track ID. After this you will be able to buy an annual Fastag of Rs 3000. For payment, you can use online methods like net banking, UPI or credit card.
Only 200 toll crossings can be done in this annual pass. That is, after the limit of 200 is over, you will have to recharge again. Alamgir Its biggest advantage is that you will not need to charge Fastag again and again.
