FasTag KYV verification: To prevent fraud related to FasTag and to accurately identify each vehicle’s FasTag, not only KYC but also KYV verification is now required. This means that if you don’t complete your vehicle’s KYV, your FasTag may be deactivated.
FasTag KYV verification: Everyone knows that using a Fastag is mandatory when traveling on highways. But did you know that the government has now released a new update? To prevent Fastag fraud and ensure the correct identification of each vehicle’s Fastag, the government has now mandated not only KYC (Know Your Customer) but also KYV (Know Your Vehicle) verification. This means that if you fail to complete your vehicle’s KYV, your Fastag may be deactivated, and you will be required to pay the full toll in cash at the toll plaza. So, what is this new KYV system and why is it necessary? Let’s explore the details.
What is KYV?
KYV (Know Your Vehicle) is a new verification process introduced by the government to prevent Fastag fraud and misuse. Just as KYC (Know Your Customer) verifies your identity, KYV verifies your vehicle’s identity and its true owner. This process ensures that your FASTag is installed on the correct vehicle and is not being misused for another vehicle.
These are the required documents for KYV.
To complete the KYV process, you’ll need a few documents. These include a digital copy of your vehicle’s RC, VRN (Vehicle Registration Number), chassis number, and the details of your FASTag linked to your mobile phone.
How to complete the KYV process from your mobile?
- First, open your banking app or Fastag app.
- Then, type KYV or FasTag Verification in the search bar.
- Now, start the process according to the on-screen instructions.
- You’ll need to upload clear photos of the vehicle from different angles.
- One photo must show that the FasTag is properly attached to the vehicle’s windshield.
- Also, upload a scanned copy of the RC.
- After filling in all the details, click the Submit / Send button.
This process may take approximately 7 days to complete. You will receive the status information via email or SMS. You can also check your KYV status through your banking or FasTag portal app.
