New Delhi. If you are travelling on an expressway or national highway, on reaching the toll gate you come to know that your fastag is either blacklisted or there is no money in it and you get stressed that now you will have to struggle with the toll worker. There is good news for such drivers. But now you do not need to worry. It is important for you to know this rule of NHAI.
According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the total network of NHAI is 1.5 lakh km across the country. In this, about 90 thousand km is with the National Highway Authority of India. In which 45000 km. toll is charged. There are 1063 toll plazas on these NHs. There are lakhs of vehicles which come and go daily.
This is the problem
According to NHAI officials, many times complaints are received that if the fastag is blacklisted or the money in it is over, the toll worker asks the vehicle to go through another toll lane. He says that the entire system will have to be restarted. Due to this, a fight starts between the driver and the toll worker. Because the driver will have to stand in the queue again, which is sure to take time.
There is no such rule
According to NHAI, there is no such rule that if the fastag is blacklisted or the money is over, the driver should be sent to another toll lane. There is no need to restart the system to collect toll from such vehicles. According to the NHAI official, he asks to return for some other reason.
Complain here
According to NHAI, if a toll worker asks the vehicle to go back to another lane when the fastag is blacklisted, then the driver should immediately complain to the concerned toll plaza on 1030, NHAI will take action on it.
