Fixed Income Scheme: In the current circumstances, where to invest has become a major question. From the stock market to gold and silver, everything is experiencing a significant decline. Let’s explore schemes that offer returns higher than bank fixed deposits. These schemes also offer a complete guarantee of returns.
1-EPF
This scheme offers an interest rate of 8.25 percent for the financial year 2025-26. EPF interest is paid annually. This scheme is designed for private sector employees. Under this scheme, the employee contributes 12 percent of their salary, and the employer contributes 12 percent. This is significantly higher than many FD schemes currently available.
2- Senior Citizen Savings Scheme
Anyone over the age of 60 can avail this scheme. This government scheme offers an interest rate of 8.20 percent. Senior citizens can invest between ₹1,000 and ₹30,000 for a period of 5 years. Employees can avail a tax deduction of ₹1.5 lakh under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act.
3- Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana
This central government scheme offers an interest rate of 8.2 percent. Launched in 2015, the scheme is specifically designed for girls. Data recently presented in the Lok Sabha shows that account openings and total deposits have increased year-on-year.
4- Public Provident Fund
Investing in PPF earns an interest rate of 7.1 percent. All returns from this scheme are tax-free. However, funds are locked in PPF for at least 15 years.
5- Post-of-Time Deposit
Investors can invest in this scheme for 1, 2, 3, and 5 years. This scheme offers interest rates ranging from 6.9 percent to 7.5 percent. It’s worth noting that this scheme offers higher returns than many bank fixed deposits.
6- Other Post Office Schemes
Schemes like savings accounts, MIS, and NSC offer interest rates ranging from 6.7% to 7.4%, which is higher than many government-backed fixed deposits.
