Delhi Free Gas Cylinder Scheme: Poor women of Delhi are going to get a big relief on Holi. The BJP government of the capital has approved a scheme to provide free cooking gas cylinders to women of the economically weaker section (EWS). Under this scheme, women in Delhi will get free cooking gas cylinders.

This proposal was agreed upon in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The government says that women from EWS families holding ration cards will be given free cylinders on the occasion of Holi and Diwali. The expenditure on this scheme is estimated to be around Rs 300 crore.

CM Rekha Gupta fulfilled her promise

Providing free LPG cylinders to women from EWS families during Holi and Diwali, as well as providing cylinders to economically weaker families at a subsidized rate of Rs 500 per cylinder, was part of the BJP’s manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections.

The BJP government has already fulfilled some of its election promises, including implementing the central government’s Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme in Delhi and opening Atal Canteens to provide meals to the needy for just five rupees.
