In overseas markets, gold rose sharply to $2,023 an ounce while silver rose to $24.26 an ounce. Gandhi said gold in Comex (commodity market) remained positive on Monday due to support in precious metal prices amid rising fears of US debt ceiling and banking sector crisis.
