New Delhi.Delhi government is now bringing e-policy in all types of vehicles to improve public transport. In the second week of the Delhi Government Switch Delhi campaign, now the focus is on three-wheelers. Delhi’s Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot has said that e-Auto in Delhi can become a means of traveling to any place. For this, the Delhi government will soon come up with a scheme to facilitate easy registration of e-autos in Delhi. Its objective is to make Delhiites aware, informed and encouraged to buy electric tricycles in the national capital. Delhi government will also provide a subsidy of Rs 30,000 for promoting e-rickshaws. After the EV policy, the same subsidy is now being given on e-cart loaders and e-autos as well.
Delhi government announced subsidy for two-wheeler vehicles On
Sunday, Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said on the occasion of launching the next phase of the Switch Delhi campaign that two more three-wheelers contribute two-thirds of Delhi’s pollution . Three-wheelers run on the road for 12-16 hours every day. Now, focusing on them in EV policy will be successful in converting them into electricity, which will greatly benefit Delhi’s air quality.
30 thousand rupees subsidy to promote e-rickshaw
It is worth mentioning that Delhi government has been giving a subsidy of 30 thousand rupees for the promotion of e-rickshaws for the last few years. After the EV policy, the same subsidy is being given on e-cart loaders and e-autos. Up to 30 thousand rupees will be provided on the purchase of each vehicle. A discount of up to Rs 7500 will be available for scraping and de-registering an old CNG auto rickshaw registered in Delhi. Road tax and registration fee will also be waived for all electric three wheelers.

177 three-wheeler models available under EV policy,
177 three-wheeler models are available to buy under Delhi’s EV policy and 68 manufacturers are offering scrap incentives. The Delhi government has recently floated tenders for levy of 500 charging points at 100 sites, most of which will have slow chargers which are particularly suitable for two and three wheelers. Kailash Gehlot said that we have worked at the ground level to run electric vehicles smoothly in Delhi. We now demand the cooperation and commitment of Delhiites to make this movement a success.
The Switch Delhi campaign is an eight-week electric vehicle public awareness campaign. It has been started by the Kejriwal government to make people aware of the benefits of buying electric vehicles and the incentives and basic facilities provided under the EV policy. The objective of this campaign is to inform, encourage and motivate every person in Delhi to buy zero-emission electric vehicles in place of polluting vehicles.
