Good news for ABVKY scheme holders, increased deadline for claims of unemployment allowance

new Delhi. The good news for ABVKY scheme holders is those who have lost their jobs due to Corona infection and lockdown. They no longer need to be upset. Because the Central Government has fixed the last date for claim of unemployment allowance as June 30, 2021. That is, the employees who lost the job during the Corona period, who are insured under the Atal Insured Person Welfare Scheme, will now be able to apply by June 30, 2021 to get 50% salary for three months.

On the other hand, those who have lost their job between March 24 to December 31, 2020 will be entitled to three months 50% salary under this scheme. It will also benefit those workers who have got jobs again. Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has decided to extend the last date for applying, given the sluggish pace of the Atal Insured Person Welfare Scheme in the country.

Any employee insured under ESIC can file his claim for unemployment allowance. This allowance will be given as half the salary for three months. ESIC is going to make a provision of Rs 44 thousand crore for this. On 19 September, unemployment relief was extended from 25 per cent to 50 per cent for this unemployment allowance from ESIC. But the number of people applying for unemployment allowance seems to be much lower than expected. A senior labor ministry official said that so far 5 lakh employees who have been unemployed due to corona have not applied for this allowance. In view of this, the application date has been extended.
