The Telangana government has announced a 30 percent increase in the salary of its employees. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has given information about this in the assembly on Monday. The Pay Revision Commission had earlier recommended a 7.5 percent increase in salary of fitment employees. According to an estimate it was said that this would increase the burden of Rs 2,252 crore on the treasury of the state government. But, the state government’s increase in the salary of fitment employees by 30 percent means that now the burden of the government exchequer will be increased by about 8 thousand crore rupees.
80 percent employees will be promoted
The Chief Minister also informed that a total of 9.17 lakh employees of the state will get benefit from this. It will also include employees working through contracts and outsourcing. Rao said that 80 percent of the qualified employees are already being promoted and the remaining employees will be promoted very soon.
New vacancies will also be made on the vacant posts after promotion. Notification for this will also be released soon. Rao said that the process of promotion of teachers is going to start very soon.
Gratuity amount will also increase
Keeping in mind the spouse of the employees, the work of inter-district transfer will also start soon. He announced that the amount of gratuity given at the time of retirement of the employees is also being increased from the current Rs 12 lakh to Rs 16 lakh.
Retirement age
Under the new pension scheme, these employees will also be given the facility of family pension. This will be under the new Contributory Pension Scheme. The Telangana government has increased the retirement age for state employees from 58 to 61 years.
