new Delhi. The government has relaxed the rules for submitting life certificates to central pensioners. Now any central pension holder can submit a life certificate by 31 December 2020. All pensioners under central government have to submit a life certificate in the month of November every year to continue their pension. In view of the corona virus epidemic, the government has relaxed this rule for senior citizens. The government has said that this year all pensioners can submit a life certificate anytime between 2 months from November 1 to December 31. Union Minister Jitendra Singh has given information about this on Friday.
The official statement of the government said that pensioners above 80 years of age can submit their life certificate from October 1 to December 31, 2020. During this period all pension holders will continue to be issued pension by the pension disbursing authorities.
Identification advice through video: The
central government has asked all pension issuers to explore the possibility of video-based identification. With its help, only through the video can the pension holders be identified and their life certificate can be obtained. However, for this, rules of RBI will also have to be taken care of.
Pension can be stopped if the certificate is not submitted, it should be
noted that the period for submission of life certificate for pensioners below 80 years is from November 1 to December 31. At the same time, for pensioners above 80 years, Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare has given permission to submit this form from October 1 instead of November 1. However, the last date for this too has been set to 31 December. If a pensioner does not fill this form within the stipulated period, then his pension can be withheld from the next month. However, after this the pension will be resumed after submission of life certificate.
One can submit such digital pension certificate online
>>In the year 2014, the government had given the facility to submit digital life certificate through Aadhaar. The pensioner’s Aadhaar number and biometric data are used.
>> This can be completed by visiting any citizen service center or pension issuer’s office. After this, ‘Jeevan Praman Application’ can be downloaded from Jeevan Pramaan portal.
>> After this, the pensioner has to provide information like Aadhaar number, name, mobile number, and PPO number, pension account number, bank details. After the completion of the Aadhaar authentication, a PDF copy of the certificate can be downloaded by going to the website of Jeevan Pramaan with the help of Jeevan Pramaan ID.
>>Digital life certificate is also available with pension issuing agency. Let us know that since 2014, more than 2.6 crore pensioners have submitted Digital Life Certificate.
