Gorakhpur: Robbers wearing police uniforms actually turned out to be policemen, arrested

In Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh, three policemen, including a sub-inspector, who robbed gold, silver and cash worth 35 lakh from bullion traders have been arrested.

Gorakhpur: UP (Uttar Pradesh), Gorakhpur gold district 35 million of bullion traders, silver and cop to rob cash (UP Police) has been a sub-inspector and arrested two constables. All three policemen were in uniform at the time of the robbery. The incident is dated 20 January. Two bullion traders of Maharajganj were going from Gorakhpur to Lucknow with jewelery and cash. On the way, three people wearing police uniforms got off the bus in the name of investigation and got kidnapped by auto. They escaped by looting 35 lakh gold, silver and cash from bullion traders.




Bullion traders informed the police about this and told that the robbers came wearing police uniforms. When the Gorakhpur police took out a picture of the robbers from the CCTV footage of the scene, it was found that they were not real robbers in the police uniform but were real policemen. Their identification revealed that these settlements are SI Dharmendra Yadav, constables Mahendra Yadav and Santosh Yadav posted in the old settlement police station of the district. The Gorakhpur police have arrested the three policemen. All the three accused have been suspended and a recommendation for sacking has been sent to the government. 9 more policemen of this police station have been suspended on charges of negligence in duty. After the arrest, during interrogation, the three accused confessed that they had been looting in the police uniform even before this. The accused said that they had robbed another bullion merchant on December 29 last year.
