Delhi News: In response to rising pollution in Delhi, the government has implemented a zero-tolerance policy regarding PUCC regulations. Vehicles without a valid PUCC will not be able to operate.
In light of the ever-increasing air pollution in Delhi, the government has taken a major decision. No laxity will be tolerated regarding pollution control. The government has announced a zero-tolerance policy for violations of the PUCC (Pollution Under Control Certificate) regulations. It has been clearly stated that no vehicle without a valid PUCC will be allowed to ply on Delhi’s roads.
The government has issued a clear message to drivers that carrying a PUCC will be mandatory until further notice. Whether two-wheeled or four-wheeled, every vehicle will be inspected. Strict action will be taken against vehicles found without a valid PUCC, and fines may also be imposed. The administration states that this step has been taken with public health in mind.
Restrictions will remain even after the lifting of GRAP-4.
Although the strict restrictions of GRAP-4 have been lifted, the government has made it clear that many of the restrictions will remain in place permanently. This means that even if pollution levels decrease, there will be no complete relaxation of the rules. The government wants to prevent the situation from worsening again in the future, and therefore, precautions are already being taken.
Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated that the government will not compromise on public health. He stated that polluting vehicles are being closely monitored and that those violating the rules will not be spared.
If the situation worsens, vehicles below BS-6 will be banned.
The government has also warned that if pollution levels in Delhi become severe again, the entry of vehicles below BS-6 standards may be banned again. This is intended to reduce the pressure on roads and improve air quality.
