Minister Manjinder Sirsa said the government has decided to take strict action against air pollution in Delhi. Starting December 18th, no vehicle in the capital will be supplied with petrol or diesel without a PUC.

In this connection, Environment Minister of Delhi Government Manjinder Singh Sirsa has made a big announcement while addressing a press conference on the serious issue of pollution.
Minister Manjinder Sirsa said that the government has decided to take strict steps regarding air pollution in Delhi. From December 18, petrol or diesel will not be given to any vehicle without PUC in the capital. Not only this, he further said that if any vehicle is caught without PUC, a challan of Rs 7 lakh will be issued against it.
He said that in view of the increasing pollution, a decision has been made to ban the entry of diesel vehicles below BS-6 into the capital. Only vehicles with Delhi registration will be allowed. Furthermore, stricter rules have been implemented for private vehicles coming from outside Delhi. Private vehicles registered in other states and below BS-VI emission standards will not be allowed to enter the national capital. This decision will especially apply to vehicles that contribute to air pollution by emitting excessive smoke.
Sirsa further stated that the government has also taken strict action against dust pollution caused by construction activities. The transportation of bricks, sand, cement, and other construction materials into Delhi has been completely banned. Violators will face heavy fines and other legal action.

The minister further stated that it is impossible for any elected government to reduce the AQI in 9-10 months. I apologize for the pollution in Delhi. We are doing better than the dishonest AAP government and have reduced the AQI every day. This pollution problem was passed on to us by the Aam Aadmi Party, and we are working to fix it.
Fine of 5,000 rupees for open burning of garbage
A few days ago, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made a major announcement regarding the pollution in Delhi. She wrote on social media that she is continuously striving to control every source of air pollution, both large and small. In this regard, the Environment Department has been given strict instructions to ensure a complete ban on open burning. The district administration and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi have been given the authority to impose fines of up to 5,000 rupees on those who burn garbage in the open. All citizens are requested to refrain from open burning. A small contribution from all of you can make a big difference.
