H3N2 Virus Alert: Panic due to H3N2 flu in Delhi-NCR! Know the symptoms and prevention of this virus

H3N2 Flu Virus Symptoms: People are terrified due to the sudden outbreak of H3N2 virus in Delhi-NCR. Hospitals have issued a notice to increase awareness among people about the symptoms and timely recovery of this deadly virus. If people know about H3N2 in advance, they can avoid its outbreak by taking precautions.

H3N2 Flu Cases Surge In Delhi-NCR: Delhi-NCR has been witnessing a sharp rise in H3N2 flu cases in the last few days. According to a LocalCircles survey conducted in over 11,000 households, 69% of households have at least one member suffering from symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat and shortness of breath. The scary thing about this virus is that many cases are more severe than the usual seasonal flu. The fever persists for a long time. Over-the-counter medicines have little effect. People are getting hospitalised.

This situation is a public health concern given Delhi’s dense population. However, the Delhi government says there is no need to panic. Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh on Friday said there is no need to worry about the H3N2 flu. He said it is just a viral infection and is not serious.

However, he said all hospitals in Delhi are fully prepared to deal with the situation. “There is nothing to worry about H3N2. It is a viral infection and not serious, but all hospitals in Delhi are prepared for proper management,” Singh said.

What is H3N2 flu?

H3N2 is a subvariant of the influenza A virus. Influenza viruses are categorized based on surface proteins (haemagglutinin “H” and neuraminidase “N”). It is one of the strains that cause seasonal flu. It spreads among humans. It keeps changing its form over time.

It can knock in different forms every season. It attacks more in more populated areas. According to experts, children, elderly and pregnant women should avoid it more.

H3N2 flu is different from coronavirus (COVID-19) and common cold. H3N2 is an influenza A virus. COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. While common cold is usually caused by rhinoviruses or adenoviruses.
