Haryana: 11 thousand cusecs of water released from Hathinikund barrage, flood control teams on alert mode

Due to the rain in the mountains, the water level on the Hathinikund barrage has crossed the figure of thirteen thousand cusecs. 13545 cusecs of water was recorded at five o’clock on Thursday evening. Due to the continuous rise in the water level, DC has put flood control and relief teams on alert mode.

At the same time, all strong arrangements have been made by the Irrigation Department on Hathini Kund Barrage. Of this, 11389 were discharged in the Western Yamuna Canal, 352 in the main Yamuna and 1804 cusecs of water in the East Yamuna Canal. A week ago, Yamuna’s water level was only around nine thousand cusecs. Now this water is increasing gradually.
More water will reach Haryana-Delhi

With the release of water equivalent to capacity in the Western Yamuna Canal, the water capacity in Haryana and Delhi will increase. Due to this, the irrigation department of the state has given instructions to send water to all the small canals. In such a situation, farmers will benefit greatly. However, in some places due to excess of water, farmers may also suffer losses.
