Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said- ‘Kundali’ should also be got before marriage, what is the logic behind this?

In response to a question in the Lok Sabha, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that before marriage, a young woman should be tested for blood. On the lines of the horoscope, with the help of ‘blood-horoscope’, it will help to eliminate the disease named Thalassemia.

In response to a question in the Lok Sabha, Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that along with matching the horoscope of the boy and girl before marriage, the reports of their blood should also be matched. Actually, MP Manoj Kotak asked a question about Thalassemia disease. Answering the same question, the Health Minister gave information about preventing this disease. He said that people will have to give information by running a social campaign for this.

Harsh Vardhan said that people should check the blood of the young man and the woman before marriage through ‘blood-coil’ so that they can be given medical advice accordingly. This will ensure that the couple’s children do not become carriers of Thalassemia. This will be the biggest contribution for the society and to eradicate this disease. Thalassemia Day is also celebrated every year on 8 May.

Every year 10 thousand children suffering from Thalassemia are born.

Medical experts also agree that there should be a Thalassemia test before marriage. Awareness about Thalassemia is also very important. Due to less awareness about this disease, it is not curable. In this way, the parents transfer the disease to the next generation through genes. According to an estimate, 10,000 children with Thalassemia are born in India every year. The biggest reason for this is that there is no awareness among people about this disease. As a result, thousands of people suffering from Thalassemia die every year. This is the most seen in rural areas.

Looking at all these reasons, it is being said that the couple should get tested for Thalassemia before marriage. Since this disease continues to progress from generation to generation, it is important that everyone should know about their thalassemia report.

What is Thalassemia?

Thalassemia is a type of blood disease in which blood cells become very weak and deteriorate. In some people, this disease is also caused by not having the right variant of the genes. This has a bad effect on the ability to make hemoglobin protein. Let it be said that red blood cells deliver oxygen to various parts of the body only through hemoglobin. If any of the parents is suffering from Thalassemia, then there is a 25 percent chance that their child will also get this disease.

A child suffering from Thalassemia has to give blood repeatedly within a set time. Therefore, doctors advise that parents should avoid pregnancy when they are suffering from Thalassemia. Doctors say that if a child is born with this disease, then there is only one way to treat their hemoglobin disorder. That child should be made a bone marrow transplant with the help of a proper donor.

What is the way to avoid Thalassemia?

In many investigations, medical experts say that checking it before marriage can prove to be effective in preventing Thalassemia. Its testing facility in India has been there for decades. However, there are still a small number of testing centers for this in India. Medical experts say that this check should be made free for the poor class so that it can be prevented in time for the disease. There is a need to develop technical infrastructure for this at the ground level. The central government is also working in this direction.

Thalassemia is investigated in Iran

There are many such countries including Iran, because of the investigation of Thalassemia and after that the sex of the penis has been controlled to a large extent. In Iran, the death toll of children suffering from Thalassemia has decreased. It has improved a lot in the last 20 years. Here, couples who are at risk for this disease are given the facility of genetic counseling. If a young man-woman is found with the symptoms of this disease and they marry, then they are given all help for genetic testing.
