The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for nine states, including Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Cold waves are expected to return in several districts of Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh may also experience rain accompanied by strong winds.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for strong winds and rain in nine states, including the capital Delhi, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. The IMD says that due to the strong winds, temperatures will drop significantly. Meanwhile, snowfall is occurring in the hilly states, which is contributing to the cold in North India.
Rain likely in these states
The Meteorological Department has stated that a rain alert has been issued for Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Madhya Pradesh. On February 3, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may experience thunderstorms and lightning. Winds of up to 50 kilometers per hour are also expected. A heavy rain alert has also been issued for coastal areas of Tamil Nadu.
Cold Wave Alert in These Areas
Amidst the rain and snowfall, the Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert for several districts in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave conditions may prevail in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow, as well as Ayodhya, Sitapur, Bijnor, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Mathura, Aligarh, Agra, and Noida. Meanwhile, cold winds may create cold conditions in Haryana’s Hisar, Gurugram, Kurukshetra, Sonipat, and Panipat. Cold wave conditions will also prevail in Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Patiala and Amritsar of Punjab.
Weather in the Capital City of Delhi
Regarding the weather in the capital, Delhi, there will be cloud cover on February 3rd. Light rain is also possible by evening. If it rains, temperatures will drop. The maximum temperature is expected to be 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 9 degrees Celsius.
Weather in Uttar Pradesh
The Meteorological Department has reported that light rain accompanied by strong winds may occur in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. Rain is likely in Varanasi, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Mahoba, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Banda, Mau, Ballia, and Pratapgarh. Fog was also observed in Lucknow, Ayodhya, Agra, and Mathura in the morning. Due to the weather, people need to be cautious on the roads.
