Heavy Rain Alert: Amidst the intense heat, the weather in several states, including the national capital Delhi and Rajasthan, has once again changed on Friday due to the impact of a western disturbance. Rain and strong winds have begun in the northeastern states. For the next four days, rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds will prevail in most parts of the northwest, central, and northeastern parts of the country.
Possibility of thunderstorms in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar from March 14 to 17
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain and strong winds in various parts of the country from March 14 to 17. On Friday, cloudy skies in Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh brought partial relief from the heat wave. Temperatures in the plains of northwest India dropped by 3-5 degrees Celsius, and in the western Himalayas by 4-6 degrees Celsius.
Heavy Rainfall in the Northeast Until March 16
According to the IMD, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning was recorded in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and northern West Bengal on Friday, and light snowfall and rain were recorded in the Himalayan ranges of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in the northeastern states until March 16.

From Saturday, scattered to widespread rain and snowfall will occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand in northwest India. From Saturday to Monday, scattered rain and lightning is expected in many parts of Rajasthan, Delhi, and Punjab, and thunderstorms and strong winds, along with hailstorms at some places, are expected in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh.
