Heavy Rain Alert: The weather has deteriorated due to the effect of monsoon and western disturbance across the country. Rain continues in many states of North India including Delhi-NCR. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Delhi, UP, Himachal and MP and an orange alert in many other states. Life is likely to be affected by heavy rains for the next few days.
Heavy Rain Alert: Monsoon is expected in many parts of the country. The weather is quite unstable due to the effect of western disturbance. Continuous rain has been continuing for the last few days in many states of North India including the capital Delhi. After the heavy rain in Delhi-NCR yesterday, people are not going to get relief even today. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Madhya Pradesh. More than 15 mm of rain has been predicted in these states. At the same time, an orange alert has been issued for rain in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha and Tamil Nadu.
Moderate rain in Delhi-NCR
The risk of heavy rain in Delhi-NCR today is low, but there is a possibility of moderate rain. According to weather experts, there may be heavy rain tomorrow i.e. on September 3 and there may also be thunderstorms. After this, the rain will continue on September 4 and 5 as well. In view of the rising water level of the Yamuna river, relief camps have already been set up in Mayur Vihar.
Heavy rain warning in Uttar Pradesh
Rain continues in many cities of Uttar Pradesh. Rain is expected at a speed of 15 mm per hour in Lucknow, Barabanki, Bareilly, Amethi, Prayagraj, Hapur, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Kheri, Farrukhabad, Shahjahanpur, Meerut, Rampur, Bahraich, Badaun and Pilibhit even today.
Weather condition in Bihar and Uttarakhand
There is a possibility of lightning and strong winds in 12 districts of Bihar today. Yellow alert has been issued in Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj, West and East Champaran. At the same time, due to incidents like landslides and cloudburst in Uttarakhand, a red alert has been issued in Dehradun and Tehri Garhwal. Heavy rain is also expected in Champawat, Bageshwar, Chamoli and Uttarkashi.
Heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and western India too
Red alert has been issued in the southern districts of Himachal Pradesh for the next two days, while heavy rains are also expected in the eastern parts on the third day. In the last 24 hours, many parts of Himachal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, western Rajasthan and Telangana recorded more than 21 cm of rainfall. Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and eastern Rajasthan also received 12-20 cm of rain.
Possibility of rain in western and coastal states
The IMD has warned of continuous heavy rains in Gujarat, Konkan-Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and coastal Karnataka from September 3 to 6. Gujarat is likely to receive extremely heavy rains especially on September 4 and 5, which may affect life in Saurashtra-Kutch and Ghat areas. Similarly, the period of heavy rains will continue in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and western Madhya Pradesh from September 3 to 5.
Effect of monsoon rains across the country
Continuous heavy rains are also expected in the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Due to the combination of monsoon and western disturbance, there will be rain in the northwestern and western coastal states of the country for the next one week.
