According to the Meteorological Department, an intense Western Disturbance is expected to bring light rain to the Western Himalayan region between January 26-28, and heavy rain/snowfall at some locations on January 27.
The IMD predicts no significant change in minimum temperatures for the next two days. The mercury may rise by 4-6 degrees Celsius during this period. However, temperatures may drop by 3-5 degrees Celsius after that.

Temperatures are dropping rapidly due to snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Dense fog has enveloped Punjab and surrounding areas. Several highways have been closed due to heavy snowfall. Srinagar recorded a temperature of minus 1.4 degrees Celsius.
Cold weather will intensify in Delhi
Due to the active western disturbance in the hilly states, a cold wave is wreaking havoc in several states, including Delhi. The cold winds are increasing the chill and frost in the capital. Clouds are continuing to move across the sky. Rain may occur in some parts of Delhi-NCR before January 27th.

The effects of the Western Disturbance can be felt in many parts of Uttar Pradesh. Light rain is expected in some districts of western Uttar Pradesh, especially in the state.
Cold wave and fog will continue to affect Bihar as well. According to the Meteorological Department, the Western Disturbance is likely to cause thunderstorms and rain in many parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Rain in Kerala and Tamil Nadu
Thunderstorms and rain are expected in Tamil Nadu and Kerala on January 26. Dense fog is also expected in parts of West Bengal and Sikkim.
