Heavy Rain Alert: Warning of winds of up to 80 kmph and torrential rain in these states, know the weather conditions

Heavy Rain Alert: An alert for heavy rain and strong winds has been issued for South India. Extremely heavy rainfall has been warned for several areas in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Temperatures will drop sharply in North India, and dense fog is possible in several states. Cold wave warnings have been issued for several areas from Punjab to Maharashtra.

Heavy Rain Alert: A very dangerous weather event has begun in South India. Cyclone Ditwah, moving from the southwest Bay of Bengal and near northern Sri Lanka, is now approaching the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. On November 30, the storm moved northward at a speed of 12 kilometers per hour over the past six hours, and is now only 70 kilometers from the coast. The storm is maintaining its intensity and could increase the risk of heavy rain and strong winds over the next 24 hours.

Due to this storm, heavy to very heavy rainfall (Extremely Heavy Rain Alert) is expected in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, and Kerala on December 1. Extremely heavy rainfall alerts have been issued for isolated areas in north coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and south coastal Andhra Pradesh districts.

Strong winds are also likely to become dangerous, reaching speeds of 70 to 80 kmph in north Tamil Nadu, 60 to 70 kmph in south Tamil Nadu, and 55 to 65 kmph in south coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Thunderstorms, lightning, and rain are expected to continue in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema between December 1 and 4. Rain is also expected in Kerala and Mahe from December 2 to 4. Temperatures (Weather Update Latest News) may change in North, East, and Central India.

Temperatures in northwest and eastern India will remain unchanged for the next 48 hours, but a drop of 2 to 3 degrees is expected thereafter. Temperatures in northeast India may drop by 3 to 4 degrees over the next three days. Minimum temperatures are also forecast to fall in Gujarat, northern Maharashtra, and surrounding areas over the coming days.

A dense fog warning has also been issued. Dense fog is expected in Manipur and Odisha on December 1st, and in Himachal Pradesh between December 1st and 3rd. Intense cold waves are also expected in Punjab, Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Eastern Rajasthan between December 1st and 7th.
