First go to the website www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. Log in to your account by entering details like PAN, password and captcha code. Click on ‘Review Returns / Forms’. Select ‘Income Tax Returns’. Select the assessment year for which you want to check your income tax refund status. Click on your enrollment number.

A pop-up will appear on the screen which will show the timeline of the filing of the return. Also, it will also show the assessment year, status, reason for failure and mode of payment.

Enter the details of your PAN, select the assessment year for which refund status is to be checked, enter captcha code and click on submit.
