The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has discontinued the hard copy of migration certificates for students. All certificates will now be available digitally on DigiLocker, making the process faster and simpler.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has stopped issuing hard copies of migration certificates to Class 10 and 12 students starting in 2025. Students will now receive these certificates digitally through DigiLocker. This digital certificate will be recognized by colleges and universities.
This change has been made to reduce administrative delays, remove fees, and simplify the certificate verification process. Below is how you can download your CBSE Migration Certificate through DigiLocker.
Hard copies will no longer be available
CBSE will no longer provide physical copies to Class 10 and 12 students. All certificates will now be available digitally only on DigiLocker. Therefore, if students haven’t already created an account on DigiLocker, they should do so now.
What is the reason for the change?
- The UGC (University Grants Commission) has recognized digital certificates from all recognized boards as valid for college admissions.
- This will expedite certificate issuance, reduce costs, and eliminate paperwork.
- Students who still require printed copies can apply through the CBSE DADS (Duplicate Academic Document System) during a temporary period.
- If you still need a physical migration certificate, you can apply through the DADS (Duplicate Academic Document System) by visiting the CBSE website.
- This feature will only be available during the transitional period.
What is DigiLocker and why is it important?
DigiLocker is a government digital platform where Indian citizens can store and access important documents such as marksheets, certificates, Aadhaar cards, etc. at any time.
Features:
- Secure and government-certified platform
- Easy document sharing and verification
- Colleges and institutions can easily verify document validity
