Friends, a new update has been done on the UAN portal, where you will have to upload a photo of a cancellation check or passbook as your bank proof while making an online PF claim.
Even if you have a bank account linked to your KYC, you still need to upload a photo of your cancel check or passbook , otherwise your claim will not be submitted. On going to the online claim on the UAN portal, you will see a new option of “upload scanned copy of canceled cheque / passbook” under Adress. Where you will have to upload the photo as per the instructions given and after that you can claim online.
How To Upload Cancel Cheque / Passbook In Uan Portal?
You have to keep in mind while uploading the photo, that the photo has to be uploaded as per the instructions mentioned and the person who has a PF account should have a bank account, but no other person can upload a bank account. If you do not have a scanner, you can also take a picture and upload it from your smartphone. But you have to keep in mind that the photo size should be between 100KB and 500KB. Photos of more or less than this size cannot be uploaded. If your captured photo is more than 500 KB in size then you can reduce the size of your photo by downloading the Image Reducer app from Google Play Store.
Rule:-
- Photo size should be at least 100 KB.
- The maximum photo size should be 500kb. You cannot upload a photo of this size.
- Uploaded photo must be in JPG or JPEG format.
- The bank account number, IFSC code and name should be clearly visible in the uploaded cancellation check or passbook.
- Claim can also be rejected if the account number, name and IFSC code are not clearly visible in the uploaded cancellation check or passbook.
Why Do I Have To Upload The Canceled Check Or Passbook While Making A PF Claim?
Earlier, at the time of PF claim, there was no need to upload a photo of the cancellation check or passbook as bank proof. After the new update of EPFO, it is now necessary to upload a photo of Cancel cheque or Passbook while doing PF CLAIM online. Sometimes many people enter wrong bank account number while adding KYC to UAN. And in this case, after claiming PF, the money of PF gets returned and hence EPFO has brought this new update for the clarity of bank account.

No, the same person’s cancellation check or passbook is to be uploaded at the time of claiming PF, the person who has UAN number and PF account. Cannot upload bank account of any other person.
