IMD Alert: Big News! Meteorological Department issued alert of very heavy rain, clouds will rain heavily till November 8

Weather Update: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday has predicted heavy rains at different places in Kerala in the next few days in view of the current weather conditions in the southern part of the country. The department’s forecast said that there is a cyclonic circulation over southern Tamil Nadu and neighboring areas.

The forecast of the department said that there is a cyclonic circulation over southern Tamil Nadu and neighboring areas.

Light to moderate rain expected

The cyclonic circulation is likely to move west-northwestwards towards south-east and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea in the next three days. It said that due to this, under the influence of strong lower easterly winds coming from the Bay of Bengal, widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected in South Peninsular India in the next seven days.

Chances of very heavy rain till November 8

The department said that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall at some places in Kerala between November 5 and 8 and very heavy rainfall at some places on Sunday. The department on Saturday had issued an orange alert for November 5 in Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Malappuram districts of the state.

Orange alert means – possibility of very heavy rainfall between six centimeters to 20 centimeters.

Forecast of rain and snowfall in Himachal

Meanwhile, the local weather office of Himachal Pradesh predicted on Saturday that there may be rain and snowfall in the middle and high mountain areas of Himachal Pradesh from November 7 to 9 because a western disturbance may affect the western Himalayan region on Tuesday night. The Meteorological Department said that on November 7, there may be light rain and snow in the higher reaches, while on November 8 and 9, there may be light rain in the middle hilly areas and rain and snow in the higher hilly areas.

Rain in Kasol, mercury dropped below zero in Keylong

In the last 24 hours, Kasol near Manali has received one mm rainfall while Bhavnagar, Kalpa and some other places have received nominal rainfall. In the post-monsoon season between October 1 and November 4, Himachal Pradesh has received 27.3 mm rainfall compared to the normal of 27.9 mm.

Keylong in tribal-dominated Lahaul-Spiti district recorded the coldest night at minus 2.3 degrees Celsius, while Una was the hottest area at 30 degrees Celsius.
