Western Disturbance: The weather in Uttarakhand is currently undergoing significant change. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather remains dry across most of the state, but isolated light rain, thundershowers, and snowfall are possible in hilly districts like Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, and Pithoragarh.
The International Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that a western disturbance may affect the weather in Uttarakhand from November 3. This is expected to cause light to moderate snowfall, especially in high-altitude areas like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Auli, and Munsiyari, which could lead to a drop in temperatures and increased cold in the mornings and evenings.
Temperature Status
Daily temperatures in the plains range from 22 to 25 °C during the day. In areas like Dehradun and Nainital, the maximum temperature can reach around 29 °C, while the minimum can drop to 8-10 °C, especially in the mountains. Nights are becoming colder, and there are indications of further colder temperatures.
Relief in the Plains
In the plains of Uttarakhand, Dehradun, Haridwar, and Rishikesh, sunny days may prevail, providing some relief. Meanwhile, mornings and evenings in the mountains will be particularly cold, making it necessary to wear warm clothing.
Forecast
According to the Meteorological Department, after light rain and snowfall on November 4th and 5th, the weather is expected to remain dry in the rest of the state. After this, the cold will begin to increase, and dew and ice formation may increase in the morning in the higher altitude areas.
