IMD Cold Alert: Severe cold is prevailing across North India, including Uttar Pradesh. A warning has been issued for very dense fog in the morning and evening for the next seven days.
UP Weather: The entire North India is in the grip of cold and dense fog these days. Visibility has become very low in the morning and evening in many states including UP, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Punjab, while the cold is also severe. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning for very dense fog in Uttar Pradesh for the next seven days. Apart from this, the minimum temperature in the entire North India will decrease by four degrees in the next three days, due to which the cold will increase further. Apart from this, similar situation is going to prevail in many other states also.
According to the Meteorological Department, very dense fog is expected during the night and morning hours in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha for the next five to seven days. Similar weather conditions will prevail in Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, northern Madhya Pradesh, and Northeast India during the next five days. Cold day warnings have been issued for Himachal Pradesh on January 2nd, and for some parts of Bihar on January 4th and 5th. Cold wave conditions are expected in Himachal Pradesh on January 3rd and 4th, in Haryana and Chandigarh from January 3rd to 6th, in Punjab from January 4th to 6th, and in some parts of Rajasthan on January 8th and 9th.
Talking about the weather of the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature was below zero degree at some places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, 0-5 degree in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, five to 10 degree Celsius at some places in Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, western Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, northern Chhattisgarh, at some places in eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Odisha, Maharashtra, 10-15 degree Celsius at isolated places in Haryana and West Bengal and Sikkim.
During the next three days, the minimum temperature in North India will drop by four degrees Celsius, which means the cold will increase further. Apart from this, the minimum temperature in Central India will also drop by two to four degrees Celsius during the next three days. During the next two days, the minimum temperature in Eastern India will gradually increase by two to three degrees Celsius. During the next three days, the minimum temperature in Maharashtra may gradually increase by two to three degrees Celsius.
At the same time, dense to very dense fog is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh till the 7th, in Western Uttar Pradesh till the 5th, in Eastern Uttar Pradesh on the 5th, 8th and 9th January, and in Odisha till the 6th January. Apart from this, dense fog is expected in Jammu division and northern Madhya Pradesh till the 6th, in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura till the 7th, in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh on the 8th and 9th, in western Uttar Pradesh during the 6th-9th, in eastern Uttar Pradesh on January 6th and 7th. At the same time, frost alert has been issued in some areas of Uttarakhand on January 2nd and 3rd and in Meghalaya on January 2nd.
