The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorms, heavy rains and lightning in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and hilly states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir in the beginning of August.

According to the Meteorological Department, the capital Delhi will remain cloudy throughout the day on Friday (August 1, 2025). There is a possibility of lightning and light rain. The maximum temperature is expected to be 34 and the minimum temperature is expected to be 24 degrees. There is a possibility of light rain in the first week of August.

Chances of rain in West UP today

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the western areas of UP today (August 1, 2025). These include areas around Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Agra, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur and Bareilly.

Flood conditions persist in Kota, Dholpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur and Tonk.

Danger of Manali-Leh road sinking increased

Talking about the hilly states, due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, the water of Beas river in Bahang area of ​​Manali has reached the houses and shops, due to which the danger of Manali-Leh road sinking has increased. IMD has predicted heavy rains in Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Shimla and Sirmaur districts on Friday.

Kedarnath Yatra suspended for the second day as well

Kedarnath Yatra remained suspended for the second day on Thursday due to landslides and excessive rains in Uttarakhand. NDRF and SDRF have rescued more than 1100 passengers. More than 5 thousand passengers were stopped at Sonprayag. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Dehradun, Tehri, Champawat and Pithoragarh.
