Due to this, rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds are likely in many parts of eastern, central, and southern India. Light rain and snowfall are also expected in the hilly areas of northern India. Temperature changes and dense fog may also be observed in some areas.
Which states will be affected?
According to the Meteorological Department, this low-pressure area formed in the southwest and central Bay of Bengal weakened on Tuesday morning, but remains in the same region. Due to this, light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and winds of 30–40 kilometers per hour are likely in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands between February 23 and 25.
Rain and thunderstorms are possible at isolated places in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh on Tuesday. Rain is expected in Odisha on February 23 and 24. Additionally, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Kerala, Lakshadweep, interior Karnataka, and coastal Andhra Pradesh are also likely to experience thunderstorms.
What will the weather be like in North India and Delhi-NCR today?
Light rain or snowfall is likely in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Light rain is also possible in eastern Rajasthan and western Uttar Pradesh. A warning has been issued for dense fog in some areas of Punjab during the morning hours until February 24.
Temperatures in Delhi-NCR will remain relatively unchanged for the next two days. Minimum temperatures will remain near normal, while maximum temperatures may increase by 1–2 degrees Celsius over the next 4–5 days. Clear skies are expected, but light fog or mist is possible in the morning. Daytime winds are expected to reach 15–25 kilometers per hour on February 25 and 26.
Temperature Fluctuations
Maximum temperatures in northwest India are expected to rise by 2–3 degrees Celsius over the next four days. Temperatures in Gujarat are expected to fall by 2–3 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours. Temperatures in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are expected to first drop slightly and then gradually rise. The Meteorological Department has advised people in affected areas to exercise caution and stay in safe places during the storm.
