IMD: Most areas of North India are experiencing severe cold these days. There is no hope of any relief from the cold for the next few days. According to the IMD, visibility may be low in many areas due to fog, so people have been advised to remain vigilant.
Most parts of North India are currently experiencing severe cold. People in Delhi, Punjab, and Rajasthan are currently experiencing severe cold. Meanwhile, people in North India will not see any relief from the cold for a few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for dense fog for the next two days for 15 districts of Jharkhand. According to the IMD, visibility may be reduced in many areas due to the fog, so people have been advised to remain vigilant. This warning has been issued in view of the increasing cold in the state, and it is estimated that the fog may persist until around 8:30 am on January 4th.
Yellow alert issued in these areas of the state
Yellow alert has been issued in several districts of Jharkhand, including Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Chatra, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Dumka, Godda, Sahibganj, and Pakur. According to the IMD, dense fog is expected to persist until Sunday morning, and fog is expected to return to these areas, including Ranchi, until January 5. Visibility may decrease by 50 to 200 meters during this time, causing problems for pedestrians, motorists, and air travel, so extra caution is advised.
Dense fog expected in Ranchi
The cold in Jharkhand intensified significantly on Saturday. Gumla recorded a minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius, the coldest in the state. Daltonganj and Pakur recorded a minimum temperature of 8.3 degrees Celsius, while Khunti recorded a low of 9.4 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in the capital, Ranchi, was 12.3 degrees Celsius. There will be no significant change in the minimum temperature over the next 24 hours. However, a western disturbance may cause temperatures to drop by around 3 degrees Celsius between January 4 and 6. He said that dense fog is likely to cover Ranchi and surrounding areas on Monday.
