IMD Weather Forecast: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of heat wave in most of the states of North India. Severe heat wave will be seen in Delhi-NCR also.
IMD Weather Forecast: In many parts of North and Eastern India, there was relief from the scorching heat and heat wave due to rain accompanied by strong wind. Now once again a heat wave has been predicted. An alert has been issued for scorching heat in states like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi NCR, Bihar, Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha. People have also been appealed to be cautious and leave their homes only when necessary. On the other hand, there is a possibility of torrential rain in many states of South India. Most parts of South India have been suffering from severe heat and water crisis for the last several weeks, so there is a possibility of relief from rain.
Experts of the Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of heat wave in Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi on 19 May 2024. At the same time, there will be severe heat wave in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha and it has been said that heat wave will prevail in these states. IMD has predicted heat wave in North, West and East India. Besides, an appeal has also been made to the people of these states to take precautions, so that other types of health problems including heat stroke can be avoided. Besides, it has also been advised to consume as much water as possible. It has been advised to stay at home from 11 am to 3 pm. If absolutely necessary, instructions have been given to go out with complete arrangements.

Rain forecast in South India
IMD has also issued weather forecast for South India. Meteorologists say that there may be heavy to very heavy rain in some parts of South India. On May 15, heavy to very heavy rainfall was recorded in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. According to the latest update of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain (64.5-115.5 mm) along with gale (50-60 km per hour) in Interior North Karnataka on 16 May 2024.
Storm and hailstorm
There was a storm at a speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour at different places in Central Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa and hailstorm also occurred at many places. There have been reports of hailstorm at many places in Marathwada, Vidarbha, Konkan, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. There is a possibility of damage to mango and other fruit crops in particular. On the other hand, there have been torrential rains at some places in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
