IMD Delhi Weather Forecast: According to meteorologist Dr. Naresh Kumar, an active Western Disturbance is approaching. Its influence will cause heavy snowfall in the mountains on January 22nd and 23rd. Rain is also expected in Delhi-NCR on January 23rd. Another system will become active on January 26th, which could increase the severity of the cold.
IMD Delhi Weather Forecast: Don’t mistake the sunny weather and mild daytime warmth experienced over the past few days in North India for the departure of winter. The weather is about to change drastically once again. According to meteorologist Dr. Naresh Kumar, a strong Western Disturbance is moving towards northwestern India. Its impact will completely change the weather over the next 48 hours. Rain and hailstorms are expected in Delhi NCR. Similar conditions are expected in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, as well as some areas of Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh.
A warning has been issued for heavy snowfall in the mountains and rain accompanied by hailstorms in the plains. The administration has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ in view of the possibility of heavy snowfall and rain in the western Himalayan regions on January 22nd and 23rd. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand may witness the fury of nature. Meanwhile, the weather in the capital Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and the plains of Uttar Pradesh will also deteriorate on January 23. During this period, not only will there be light to moderate rain, but there is also a possibility of hailstorms and lightning along with strong winds.
This changing scenario has raised concerns for the Meteorological Department, as a rain alert has been issued for heavy snowfall in the mountains and rain in the plains on January 22nd and 23rd. From Delhi-NCR to Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, the sun’s heat is about to give way to cool showers. If you’re thinking of stashing your warm clothes in the closet, lured by this mild warmth, that decision may be premature. The coming days will be challenging for North India, as the true severity of the cold is yet to come.
Dr. Naresh Kumar’s Prediction
According to meteorologist Dr. Naresh Kumar, the current heat is only the result of a short interval. Two back-to-back Western Disturbance systems are now becoming active. Heavy snowfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on January 22nd and 23rd. In view of the increasing activity in the mountains, the administration has issued an orange alert. Regarding the plains, the weather in Delhi-NCR is also set to change. Light rain is expected in many parts of the capital on January 23rd. This will bring a two to three degree increase in temperatures, providing relief from the biting cold.
According to the Meteorological Department, the fog will gradually decrease, but humidity will increase after the rain. Residents of Delhi-NCR have been advised to be cautious about this sudden change in weather. Despite the rising temperatures, the cold at night can affect health. The January 26th alert is also considered very important amid preparations for the Republic Day celebrations.
